Mom, what am I going to do with you... *sigh*

Mom has been feeling a little under the weather these past couple days, and this morning was no exception. She woke up really early this morning (even for me!), and needed to come cuddle with me. I ended up with a soggy fur coat, but that's ok - Mom needed me. When she told me how much she loved me and asked me what she would do without me, I looked up at her with sappy eyes that said "Mom, why are you so sad this morning?" It's not often she's THIS needy, but I decided to be extra cuddly with her today and give her extra snuggles to try to make her feel better. I think it worked.

Birdwatching!!!

Mom and I just LOVE birdies! And a lot came by today, so Mom decided it was a photo opp.! Aren't they cute??? (Mom told me to mention to remark how beautiful her basil garden is getting. Whatever Mom.)

Beautiful cousin Bailey...

Mom and I are feeling a little sad today because my doggy cousin Bailey is being put down today. He's a beautiful 11 year old yellow Lab Retriever, but unfortunately his arthritis has gotten too bad (despite my aunt G. & uncle J. [Mom's brother] doing everything they could through meds and comfy spots to lie down.) Apparently, this is a very common problem in these dogs (same as how FUS is common with my breed of cats). Uncle J. also said that he wouldn't be surprised if Bailey had cancer because he is full of lumps. (They had them checked out a little while back, and they were fatty lumps, but they have multiplied).

Bailey used to be so active, and that is what Aunt G. and Uncle J. loved about him. They could take him camping, on hikes, to the waterfront, even our house (which I didn't enjoy much because he wanted to sniff me all the time!) Anyway, he will certainly be greatly missed (especially by Mom), but Rainbow Bridge is a beautiful place I hear.

Last night, Bailey was treated to one of Uncle J's amazing steak dinners. They also wanted to take him to the beach one last time, but they determined that it would be too much of a long ride for him, and the water is still very cold. So they decided to take him around the block to allow the neighbours to say goodbye to him. (They're a very closeknit neighbourhood).

Mom says I have more luck in love than she does! I quote her: "How sad is that!"

Guess what!! I have a girlfriend (in spirit). Her name is Miss Fluffy. She came by this morning to check out my profile and this is what she wrote:

She lives in Hamilton, Ohio!!! Isn't she CUTE??? And get this, she's only a year younger than me! (PS. I think Mom's a little jealous that I have a partner now, and she doesn't!)

Snuggling with Mom

Mom and I decided to relax together by snuggling on the couch and watch a movie. I also willingly slept with her last night and stayed all night. I even decided to go up to her face and meow to tell her it was time to get up around 4am. Then she said "Yup, I'm home for sure!"

Mom's BACK!!!

Well, Mom's back from Florida now, and I'm happy. Auntie gave me lots of love, attention, and care though, so I didn't mind at all (except getting my eyes cleaned. I didn't like THAT too much!!) I was a little upset with Mom when she got back because she did leave me for a WHOLE WEEK after all, but I was in excellent hands! After all, Mom says that Auntie is an animal whisperer, and I agree.
