Old baby picture!

Mom was going through some pictures, and she found this one of us. This was taken about 13 years ago. I was about 18 months old and Mom was about 14 years old (grade 8 or 9). I was quite a bit more active and smaller at that time of course. Hard to believe so many years have gone by! You can see some signs of aging in the two pics (Mom especially of course.. haha) For instance I no longer have my little baby face.. it is much more defined now. And of course I weigh quite a bit more! And sleep more, but you can't tell in the pictures. ;)

Hello!

Well, not too much is going on lately. Mom's been home quite a bit (except the weekends) because she hasn't been getting any calls for supply teaching. (Good for me, not so good for her). So, she put in her name for another school district the other day. Hopefully she will have better luck with them. It appears that there is also a demand for long term supply for that district, so if she can get that position for the rest of the school year, she thinks that could be her golden ticket that will lead to a full time position. Fingers crossed. In the meantime, she is working on her portfolio (much more work than she anticipated! Especially since she is creating two - English & the other in French). I help her by sitting on all her papers. That is my way of deciding what she should include - she doesn't always agree.

Anyway, although I love having her here with me, I do hope she gets called soon because according to her, money doesn't grow on trees. She also has a dilemma. There is a conference going on next week from Wednesday - Saturday she would like to attend, plus it would look awesome in the portfolio. Unfortunately, that is 3 days she would be unavailable, plus she doesn't want to bother Auntie yet AGAIN to take care of me. So she will have to decide what to do.

Playing Peekaboo with me!

Underneath the covers! I love sleeping there, but Mom is always afraid that I'll suffocate!

Bet you can't find me!

This is so sweet. Just thought we would share from my other kitty site..it actually brought tears to her eyes.

Hi Mr. Fluffy,This blog is for your Mom.

Mom, thank you for loving me no matter what I do. Thank you for worrying over me and nursing me when I am sick. Thank you for taking time out of your busy life to play with me. Thank you for taking me to the Vet and buying me special medications, food, treats, toys, furniture, etc. Thank you for not minding a world covered in hair. Thank you for treating me as your child and not an animal to be tolerated. Thank you for keeping my food and water dish clean, fresh and filled. Thank you for keeping my potty clean and fresh. Thank you for cleaning up, without complaint, when I have been sick, coughed up a hairball, or needed help with cleanup when my fur gets too long-you know where. Thank you for not becoming angry when I become a stubborn puss. When we have claws, thank you for tolerating the occasional scratch and supplying us with an alternative to your furniture for which to sharpen our claws. Thank you for sharing your space with me, even when I want the "Lion's" share. Thank you for allowing me to be the "BOSS" with all my demands and desires for which you always come through. Thank you for the many hours you spend giving me a fun life filled with friends for me and you as well here on CC. Thank you for being there through all the ups and down in all my nine lives and most importantly for being there with me to hold my paw as my tired little body gives up the fight and I must leave you to cross over the Rainbow Bridge. The forever home, filled with love overflowing is more appreciated than you could ever imagine. Today and every day of the year, I honor YOU, Mom. You are the BEST!! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!! I leave a vote for you, my friend, and for your Mom a lovely bouquet of spring and wild flowers adorned with feathers and wands for which your Mom can play with you!! I love yall, Wolfie and his Mom Linda too!!

Mexican Fiesta!

Ola!! Well, Mom was away yet AGAIN this weekend for a conference. May appears to be a popular time for them. Anyway, Auntie Linda was kind enough to take care of me yet again during Mom's absence. She's such a good catsitter, and I'm very lucky to have her.
Anyway, here are a few pictures my crazy mom took of me upon her arrival.

Oh, and Happy Mother's Day to all mothers including mothers of furkids!

Monique: Saw a Bald Eagle on my way back home. I also caught a glimpse my first very yellow Warbler of the season.. probably a Wilson's Warbler. Also anxious for fiddlehead season to come around! (Delicious edible type of fern -unfortunately the season is very short.)

Birds, birds, birds... and dog!

Mom's trying to get me to allow her to post some bits about birdies since she no longer has a blog of her own.. I GUESS I can allow her to do so, as long as it doesn't affect MY blogging any!! (She assured me it wouldn't, so here we go...)

Monique:
This evening's walk by the water included my mom and dog Chevy.. he's SUCH a little cutie and so friendly. Here is what we found:

-about 31 gulls of some sort
-a bunch of ducks of some sort
-the usual American Crows
-3 Mourning Doves
-1 Sandpiper of some sort (perhaps I should start bringing the Sibley with me...??)
-4 Greater adult Sandhill Cranes (that, I did recognize!)
-1 unknown birdsong (unfortunately I didn't see the bird though I tried hard)
